Explore the 40 miles of urban trails around LYH, including Blackwater Creek and Percival’s Island. Walk, jog or bike the earthen trails that line creeks and follow the James River. No bike? No worries! You can rent bikes at Bike’s Unlimited which is open both Sunday and Monday. 

Visit local parks like Peaks View Park where you can picnic, walk, play on jungle gyms, or disc golf. Check out the mountain views at Riverside Park, the overlook has a fountain and stunning nature views–perfect for a stop along your stroll, photos, or picnic.

Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway! Lynchburg is located close by to an entrance for the 460+ miles of scenic parkway. Hop onto to US 501 and follow the signs for the entrance. The Blue Ridge Parkway is full of beautiful overlooks, camping and picnic spots.
